Get Involved

Malvern Memorial Kindergarten (MMK) is a community-run kinder meaning families play a vital role in the successful governance, administration and culture of the organisation.


As a parent or guardian of MMK there are numerous ways to get involved and positively contribute to our children’s experience. Some of these opportunities include:

  • Committee of Management roles: the expertise of our parent group to support MMK’s Director is critical to the successful running of the kindergarten. These roles include:

    • President

    • Vice President

    • Secretary

    • Treasurer

    • Human Resources Officer

    • 3 & 4 Year Old Social/Class Representatives

    • Grants Officer

    • Fundraising Officer

    • Maintenance Officer

    • Enrolments Officer

    • Communications Officer

  • Parent Helper: join the groups as a parent helper for 1-2 hours. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with your child, get to know the group and familiarise with teaching staff and routines.

  • Working Bees/Maintenance: participating in our working bees each term is a great way to ‘refresh’ the kinder and also to get to know other families across both groups

  • Children’s Resources: we are always very grateful to receive donations from parents, these can be as simple as boxes, cylinders, plastic containers, etc for our construction and loose parts trolley.
