About Us
Established in 1951, Malvern Memorial Kindergarten (MMK) is a cornerstone of early childhood education within the City of Stonnington. For over 72 years, our community-centered kindergarten has been dedicated to providing exceptional education and care, creating a nurturing environment where children can flourish.
MMK has had the privilege of nurturing multiple generations of families. Our long-standing presence is a testament to the trust and support of our local community.
We offer two thoughtfully designed programs that cater to the developmental needs of young learners:
Three-Year-Old Program (Koalas): Two full days per week for children aged 3-4 years.
Four-Year-Old Program (Wombats): Three full days per week for children aged 4-5 years.
Each program is led by experienced, devoted and fully qualified Early Childhood Teachers. With excellent adult-to-child ratios, we ensure that every child receives personalised attention and support in a stimulating learning environment.
As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, MMK is committed to offering high-quality early childhood education without the pressures of generating an income for a parent business. Our focus is on making exceptional education accessible and tailored for the families in our community.
Please note that MMK is a small and highly sought-after kindergarten, with only one three-year-old program and one four-year-old program each year, each accommodating a maximum of 26 children. Due to the limited number of places available, early enrolment is encouraged to secure a spot for your child.

A Legend of MMK...
Part of MMK folklore is a beautiful story of a former student who once brought an acorn to kinder and planted it in the garden. Today, that acorn has grown into a magnificent oak tree that stands tall and proud in our playground. This living symbol of growth and potential reflects our commitment to nurturing each child’s development and the enduring impact of their time at MMK.
